Teddi Mellencamp\u2019s Faith Journey<\/b><\/h2>\n

When asked how Mellencamp is staying strong during her cancer battle, Arroyave gave credit to her spiritual side.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s definitely getting closer to her faith,\u201d he revealed. \u201cI love that, and I know that helps. A lot of times, you start to hear God, and you hear God\u2019s voice by reading scripture. One sentence could just speak to you, and if it gives you faith, that\u2019s all you can ask for.\u201d<\/p>\n

Edwin Arroyave\u2019s Faith That Teddi Mellencamp Will Be OK<\/b><\/h2>\n

<\/p>\n

Mellencamp learned just how serious her cancer was nearly three months after\u00a0announcing her split<\/span><\/a>\u00a0from Arroyave.<\/p>\n

Regardless of their relationship status at the time, Arroyave had faith that the mother of his children would be able to recover.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had this unwavering belief and just this conviction,\u201d he explained. \u201cPart of it was I was told it was going to happen beforehand, that Teddi was going to get cured, and I chose to believe it. And I was also told that Teddi\u2019s life is going to get turned upside down before it happened.\u201d<\/p>\n

Arroyave recalled a conversation with his mom\u2019s pastor, who said, \u201c\u2018Hey, it\u2019s gonna be OK. Something\u2019s gonna happen, just remain positive, keep your eye on faith and you\u2019re gonna see how God\u2019s gonna work a miracle.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Because of that conversation, Arroyave said he knew Mellencamp was \u201cgonna be all right.\u201d<\/p>\n

Edwin Arroyave\u2019s Lessons to His Children During Teddi Mellencamp\u2019s Cancer\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

As a result of Mellencamp\u2019s illness, Arroyave said he is even more engaged in his children\u2019s school emails and drop-offs.<\/p>\n

He also is following the rule that kids learn from the adults in times of difficulty or distress.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want my kids to see that no matter what, you show up for your family, and I want them to see that dad was always there no matter what,\u201d he shared. \u201cI also want them to see, like, as they get older, you got to treat your mom with respect.
