Gov. Tim Walz is akin to the leader of a \u201cdrug cartel,\u201d according to a Minnesota state lawmaker who filed articles of impeachment against the embattled Democrat \u2014 and warns other pols in the scandal state could be next.<\/p>\n

Republican state Rep. Mike Wiener drafted the paperwork to boot lefty Walz in November and filed the\u00a0docs on Jan. 12<\/a>, alleging the former vice presidential candidate failed in his fiduciary responsibility to taxpayers as a\u00a0$9 billion Somali social services scandal\u00a0<\/a>unfolded under his nose.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is almost like a drug cartel. You\u2019ve got various levels that are all taking a cut of this money that comes from the federal government,\u201d Wiener told The Post.<\/p>\n

Walz, he said, was \u201cultimately in charge of the cartel.\u201d He \u201cmaybe didn\u2019t know every detail that\u2019s going on, but [he is] overseeing what\u2019s taking place.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is responsible when\u00a0whistleblowers come forth<\/a>. It is his responsibility to make sure that changes are made. We have a fiduciary responsibility, which is in the articles of impeachment,\u201d Wiener continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhistleblowers had brought things forth, but were told not to pursue it because it could be viewed as racist,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

Other impeachment targets could include the head of Minnesota\u2019s Management Budget Office Erin Campbell and Attorney General Keith Ellison, Wiener said.<\/p>\n

Ellison should have been the person to prosecute the $250 million, pandemic-era Feeding Our Futures welfare fraud scandal, but instead turned a blind eye and allowed federal authorities to prosecute the case, Wiener said.<\/p>\n

Campbell\u2019s office was negligent in doling out federal funds without adequate oversight, the lawmaker said.<\/p>\n

At a contentious oversight hearing on Wednesday, Campbell claimed her office \u201cdid not have a tool\u201d to hold agencies accountable for their funding decisions,\u00a0the Pine Journal reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Campbell\u2019s office did not return a request for comment.<\/p>\n

Aimee Bock, the convicted ringleader of the Feeding Our Futures scam,\u00a0claimed on Wednesday<\/a>\u00a0that Walz and other state leaders were aware of the fraud.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have to believe that the governor\u2019s office and Keith Ellison\u2019s office were aware of this,\u201d\u00a0Bock told Fox News.<\/a><\/p>\n

Ellison denied the allegations. \u201cShe is a liar, a fraudster, and manipulator of the highest order who has never acknowledged or accepted her guilt,\u201d a rep for Ellison told the outlet.<\/p>\n

Donations from dozens of accused fraudsters have funded local Democrat candidates, including a total of $9,000 to Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey; $7,400 to \u201cSquad\u201d Rep. Ilhan Omar; $3,000 to Minnesota state Sen. John Hoffman, who was allegedly\u00a0shot last year by madman Walz appointee Vance Boelter<\/a>; and $3,000 to Minneapolis City Council Member Jeremiah Ellison, the attorney general\u2019s son,\u00a0KARE 11 reported.<\/a><\/p>\n

Wiener, who reps counties in central Minnesota, suspects more Democrats benefited from the sprawling scam.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy impression is, and my gut feel, is there is a lot of this money that\u2019s getting funneled into campaigns,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The articles of impeachment are set to be voted on in Minnesota\u2019s House when the session resumes on Feb. 17. Republicans hold a narrow 67-65 majority over Democrats in the Minnesota House while Democrats hold a slimmer 34-33 edge over Republicans in the state Senate.<\/p>\n
