United States Senator Lindsey Graham has shared a photo of President\u00a0Donald Trump<\/a>\u00a0holding a signed hat that says \u201cMake Iran Great Again\u201d, fuelling concerns about the possibility of renewed war with Iran.<\/p>\n Graham, a Trump ally and foreign policy hawk, posted the picture on X on Monday, saying that Trump has made the US stronger at home and abroad.<\/p>\n \u201cGod bless our Commander in Chief and all of the brave men and women who serve under him,\u201d the Republican senator wrote.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m proud to be an American. God bless and protect the brave people of Iran who are standing up to tyranny.\u201d<\/p>\n The hat, which repurposes Trump\u2019s motto \u201cMake America Great Again\u201d, appears to be a nod to regime change in Iran.<\/p>\n The photo comes as Trump continues to issue threats to Iran after US forces\u00a0abducted<\/a>\u00a0Venezuelan President\u00a0Nicolas Maduro<\/a>, an ally of Tehran.<\/p>\n The picture was taken as Graham travelled with Trump on board Air Force One from Florida to Washington, DC, late on Sunday.<\/p>\n Earlier, Graham had made a case for toppling the Iranian government in an interview featuring the same hat.<\/p>\n The senator said Trump \u201chas not turned his back on the people of Iran\u201d amid sporadic anti-government protests across the country.<\/p>\n \u201cSo I pray and hope that 2026 will be the year that we make Iran great again,\u201d Graham told Fox News as he put on the hat, which also displays an Iranian flag that dates from before the 1979 Islamic revolution.<\/p>\n On Sunday, Trump reiterated his warning that the US\u00a0would militarily intervene<\/a>\u00a0against the Iranian government if security forces kill protesters.<\/p>\n \u201cIf they start killing people like they have in the past, I think they\u2019re going to get hit very hard by the United States,\u201d the US president told reporters.<\/p>\n US foreign policy hawks who are portraying themselves as advocates for Iranians protesting against their own government have endorsed the Israeli attack on the country in June, which killed hundreds of civilians.<\/p>\n Iranian officials have dismissed Trump\u2019s threats and warned they will confront any US attacks against their country.<\/p>\n \u201cWe will not give in to the enemy,\u201d Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei wrote on X after Maduro was seized in Caracas. \u201cWe will bring the enemy to its knees.\u201d<\/p>\n In June, the US joined Israel\u2019s attack on Iran, bombing the country\u2019s three main nuclear sites.\u00a0Iran responded<\/a>\u00a0by firing missiles against a US airbase in Doha that caused damage to the site without resulting in any casualties.<\/p>\n A ceasefire was reached shortly after the Iranian attack.<\/p>\n But last week, Trump threatened to renew the war if Iran tries to rebuild its nuclear programme or missile arsenal.<\/p>\n \u201cNow I hear that Iran is trying to build up again, and if they are, we\u2019re going to have to knock them down,\u201d Trump said. \u201cWe\u2019ll knock them down. We\u2019ll knock the hell out of them.\u201d<\/p>\n
