A BELOVED influencer, actor and Broadway star has died after a lengthy battle with a rare form of cancer.<\/p>\n

Bret Hanna-Shuford, 46, passed away just days after posting a heartbreaking photo from his hospital bed of him smiling alongside his husband.<\/p>\n

Dad-of-one Bret shared a positive\u00a0Christmas\u00a0Day picture where he tragically looked ahead to 2026 and said \u201chope to see you all soon\u201d.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, his partner Stephen Hanna confirmed the sad<\/p>\n

news<\/span>\u00a0that Bret had peacefully passed away.<\/p>\n

Stephen said: \u201cIt is with a heavy heart that we share the news that early\u00a0this morning<\/span>\u00a0we said goodbye to the most amazing man, husband and Papa in the universe.<\/p>\n

\u201cBret Hanna-Shuford left this world peacefully with love surrounded by his\u00a0family<\/span>.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur\u00a0hearts<\/span>\u00a0are broken but we will continue to make him proud of us.\u201d<\/p>\n

He leaves behind his young three-year-old son, Maverick.<\/p>\n

The actor, who had roles in the Wolf of Wall Street, Little Mermaid and Wicked, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer over the\u00a0summer<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH)\u00a0and\u00a0T-Cell Lymphoma \u2013 both rare disorders \u2013 left Bret in and out of\u00a0hospital in his final months.<\/p>\n

Both cancers attack the body\u2019s immune system with T-Cell Lymphoma being among the deadliest forms of the disease.<\/p>\n

Bret and Stephen were best known for their ever-growing\u00a0social media page which detailed their family life.<\/p>\n

Broadway Husbands managed to amass over 255,000 followers at the time of Bret\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

The account would go on to update followers on Bret\u2019s\u00a0health<\/span>\u00a0in recent months.<\/p>\n

In October, he revealed he spent three days unconscious in the ICU due to the disease attacking his immune system.<\/p>\n

His illness also forced Bret to step away from his graduate studies at the University of Central\u00a0Florida.<\/p>\n

The couple had only just moved into their new home in Orlando at the time.<\/p>\n

A\u00a0GoFundMe\u00a0was launched for the Broadway\u00a0star in August.<\/p>\n

As of Saturday evening, the page has raised over $315,000 of its $350,000 fundraising goal.<\/p>\n

One of the final posts on the fundraiser from December 12, stated how Bret had been in hospital since Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n

A post from a friend read: \u201cAs many of you may have noticed, posts have been rather\u00a0radio\u00a0silent from both Bret and Stephen.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese past few weeks have been some of the toughest that they have faced in this cancer journey. Bret has been in the hospital since just before Thanksgiving.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Bret was believed to have been improving health wise.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs of today, Bret is looking and feeling better. His liver enzymes have plateaued, which is good, and he is back in the right direction with his oxygen,\u201d the post continued.<\/p>\n

Bret had many small-screen\u00a0film<\/span>\u00a0and TV credits, including a 2018 episode of\u00a0Law<\/span>\u00a0& Order: Special Victims Unit and a 2023 appearance on the cop drama series FBI: Most Wanted.<\/p>\n

He also directed an episode of the Emmy Award-winning\u00a0Hulu\u00a0series\u00a0Only Murders in the Building\u00a0in 2023, according to his\u00a0IMDb page.<\/p>\n

Bret is also known for his acting and producing work on\u00a0Disney\u00a0Royals, Disney Animazent Trio IRL, and In Rehearsal with\u2026\u00a0Stranger Things\u00a0the Musical.<\/p>\n

He and Stephen, who works at\u00a0Walt Disney World, tied the knot in April 2011.<\/p>\n
