Videos openly shared online show migrants boasting about sneaking into lorries bound for Britain. Hotels across the country are being turned into migrant accommodation, sparking protests, counter-protests and, in some cases, the closure of long-standing local businesses.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2238\" data-end=\"2460\">One restaurant, forced to shut after 20 years because it was attached to a migrant hotel housing more than 100 illegal arrivals, became a symbol of what Christys described as \u201ccollateral damage of government indifference.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2462\" data-end=\"2566\">\u201cHow many jobs are lost?\u201d he asked. \u201cHow many livelihoods are destroyed? And where is the urgency then?\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2568\" data-end=\"2815\">Yet, when it comes to Ukraine, Greenland or Venezuela, Christys said the political class \u201csprings into action\u201d \u2014 convening emergency coalitions, issuing joint statements, and congratulating themselves for defending borders thousands of miles away.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2817\" data-end=\"2863\"><strong data-start=\"2821\" data-end=\"2863\">Greenland outrage and Trump shockwaves<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2865\" data-end=\"3070\">The criticism intensified following breaking news from the White House that President Donald Trump and his team are actively discussing options to acquire Greenland \u2014 and are not ruling out military force.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3072\" data-end=\"3254\">Six European countries, including the UK, rushed to issue a joint statement insisting Greenland belongs to its people and that Arctic security must be upheld under international law.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3256\" data-end=\"3281\">Christys was unimpressed.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3283\" data-end=\"3477\">\u201cWe\u2019re suddenly experts on the inviolability of borders,\u201d he said. \u201cBut that\u2019s news to me \u2014 given Europe has thrown its borders open to the Middle East and Africa for the best part of a decade.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3479\" data-end=\"3741\">In his view, the political establishment\u2019s outrage over Greenland exposes a glaring hypocrisy: fierce resistance to any perceived threat to European territory abroad, paired with indifference \u2014 or outright denial \u2014 of what many voters see as an invasion at home.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"3743\" data-end=\"3803\"><strong data-start=\"3747\" data-end=\"3803\">\u2018Coalition of the willing\u2019 \u2014 or coalition of denial?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3805\" data-end=\"3958\">Christys mocked what he described as the \u201chug-fest\u201d of European leaders, deriding the so-called \u201ccoalition of the willing\u201d as performative and powerless.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3960\" data-end=\"4071\">He questioned whether Europe is merely posturing while real power rests elsewhere \u2014 particularly in Washington.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4073\" data-end=\"4227\">\u201cPeace in Ukraine will be secured by the United States and Russia,\u201d he argued. \u201cEurope is standing on the sidelines saying, \u2018Hey, don\u2019t forget about us.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4229\" data-end=\"4426\">The irony, he added, is that while European leaders speak passionately about defending borders in Eastern Europe, Britain\u2019s own territorial integrity appears to rank far lower on the priority list.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"4428\" data-end=\"4475\"><strong data-start=\"4432\" data-end=\"4475\">Boots on the ground \u2014 but at what cost?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"4477\" data-end=\"4645\">A central question raised during the broadcast \u2014 and echoed by Christys \u2014 was whether Britain should ever deploy troops abroad while failing to control its own borders.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4647\" data-end=\"4794\">\u201cShould you be securing the territorial integrity of another nation,\u201d he asked, \u201cwhen the territorial integrity of your own nation is not secured?\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4796\" data-end=\"5087\">The prospect of British soldiers being stationed in Ukraine, even in non-combat roles, carries the ever-present risk of escalation. As Christys pointed out, once boots are on the ground, the possibility of British casualties \u2014 and deeper involvement in war with Russia \u2014 becomes unavoidable.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5089\" data-end=\"5153\">\u201cIf they get shot,\u201d he said bluntly, \u201cwe\u2019re involved. Big time.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"5155\" data-end=\"5182\"><strong data-start=\"5159\" data-end=\"5182\">Britain last, again<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"5184\" data-end=\"5366\">For Christys, the overarching theme was unmistakable: Britain is being asked to sacrifice \u2014 financially, militarily and socially \u2014 while its own citizens feel increasingly abandoned.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5368\" data-end=\"5580\">By 2030, it is estimated that 50 per cent of all new homes could be allocated to newly arrived migrants. Communities are being stretched, public services overwhelmed, and social cohesion pushed to breaking point.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5582\" data-end=\"5703\">Yet instead of confronting these realities, Christys argued, the political class prefers to chase international applause.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5705\" data-end=\"5874\">\u201cThey\u2019ll get energised over Gaza. They\u2019ll grandstand over Venezuela. They\u2019ll defend Greenland with everything they\u2019ve got,\u201d he said. \u201cBut back here in Blighty? Silence.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"5876\" data-end=\"5904\"><strong data-start=\"5880\" data-end=\"5904\">A growing disconnect<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"5906\" data-end=\"6241\">The segment struck a nerve because it reflects a wider, growing disconnect between Westminster and the public. While politicians debate global strategy and moral responsibility, many voters are asking more basic questions: Who is looking after Britain? Who is defending its borders?
