BRIGITTE Bardot\u2019s cause of death has been revealed by her grieving husband ahead of the international sex symbol\u2019s funeral.<\/p>\n

The iconic French\u00a0film\u00a0star had undergone two major operations in her final weeks before\u00a0passing away at the age of 91 last month.<\/p>\n

Bernard d\u2019Ormale told\u00a0Paris\u00a0Match magazine his wife\u00a0of 30 years underwent two procedures\u00a0to treat a cancer diagnosis.<\/p>\n

Brigitte had tolerated the surgeries \u201cvery well\u201d after being rushed to\u00a0hospital<\/span>\u00a0in late November, Bernard said.<\/p>\n

He went on to reveal his wife\u2019s final words saying: \u201cThey were the most moving moment of my life with Brigitte, because she was leaving us.<\/p>\n

The two words were Brigitte\u2019s touching way of saying goodbye as she would often use it as a \u201clittle word of love\u201d, according to a statement by the Brigitte Bardot Foundation.<\/p>\n

The mum-of-one took her last breath at 6am on December 28.<\/p>\n

An emotional Bernard added: \u201cI saw her suffering disappear in the\u00a0next<\/span>\u00a0fifteen minutes \u2013 she became magnificent.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brigitte\u2019s funeral is set to take place later today in a private service in Saint-Tropez.<\/p>\n

A public homage at the French Riviera resort where Brigitte lived for more than half a century will also host an event for the movie legend.<\/p>\n

Hundreds of mourners have already taken to the streets of St Tropez in honour of the actress.<\/p>\n
