A\u00a0Wheel of Fortune<\/em>\u00a0contestant, who likes to find treasure in other people\u2019s trash, lost out on taking home $58,000 during the Bonus Round.<\/p>\n

Maureen O\u2019Hara, from Naperville, Illinois, played against Saloni Khushal, from Fort Worth, Texas, and Jack Kehn, from Santa Cruz, California, on January 1, the first game of 2026. O\u2019Hara revealed that she drives around her neighborhood the night before trash pickup and collects the \u201cpretty\u201d things other people put out.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Hara solved one toss-up while Khushal, a competitive singer in a karaoke league, solved the second one. Khushal took the lead when she solved \u201cSwiftly Swimming Swans\u201d for $4,600.<\/p>\n

However, O\u2019Hara quickly moved to first place with $8,000 when she solved \u201cSnowman in the Front Yard.\u201d Kehn, a competitive man, went from $0 to the lead when he solved the Prize Puzzle round with only four letters left. He won a trip to Tokyo and put $11,899 in his bank.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Hara took back the lead when she solved all three Triple Toss-Ups, putting $10,000 in her bank, which gave her $18,000. Kehn made it a close game when he solved the last puzzle \u2014 \u201cWe\u2019re Almost There\u201d \u2014 For $4,800, giving him $16,699.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Hara came out with the win and advanced to the Bonus Round. Khushal ended the game with $4,600.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Hara chose \u201cLiving Thing\u201d as her Bonus Round category. She was given \u201cR,S,T,L,N, and E\u201d by\u00a0Wheel of Fortune<\/em>. The\u00a0game show\u00a0contestant chose \u201cD,C,G, and A\u201d to round out her puzzle.<\/p>\n

The puzzle then looked like \u201cA\u00a0 _ _LD\u00a0 _R_NC_.\u201d As the clock counted down, O\u2019Hara guessed \u201cA Wild Wrench,\u201d and \u201cA Wild Trench.\u201d<\/p>\n

She couldn\u2019t quite figure out \u201cA Wild Bronco.\u201d $40,000 was in the envelope, which would have given her a total of $58,000. O\u2019Hara couldn\u2019t collect the money, but most likely got to keep the envelope with the amount written on it.<\/p>\n
